I recently had a second-round interview that, unfortunately, fell short of my expectations. The interview was scheduled for 15 minutes and was supposed to start at the top of the hour, but it began late, leaving little time for a meaningful discussion. I felt rushed and unable to provide detailed or well-formed answers to the questions presented.
What was particularly frustrating was the lack of attention from the interviewer. It was clear they were multitasking on their computer, which made me feel like I wasn’t being fully listened to or valued during our conversation. This was disappointing, especially since I had been looking forward to this role and the opportunity to discuss it further.
On a positive note, the company was communicative and timely with their rejection response, which I appreciated. However, I would suggest that they consider scheduling more time between meetings to ensure that interviews can start on time and candidates have the chance to fully engage in the discussion. Overall, while the process was efficient, the interview experience left me feeling undervalued as a candidate.
