After eight interviews of at least thirty minutes each and a 29 day long process, I had to reach out to the HR specialist to ask about the update status. I was then asked if I was available that week (this was on a Monday) to chat via phone which obviously I said yes to that same day. The HR specialist gave me a call to give me the news I already expected. Overall this was an extremely unprofessional experience and behavior from both the HR and the hiring manager to spend almost five hours of interviews and get my hopes up to then let me down. If there would have been more professionalism by them to reach out to me and let me know right away vs prolonging the process and have me reach out to them instead, it wouldn't have felt as bad but this was an awful process for a middle management position reporting to an ELT member.
