I had an initial 30 minute intro call just to learn if we would be a good fit for each other. Here I was able to learn more about Bison Trails and ask questions about the company. I gave very basic background information but was not tested on knowledge in any way.
This was followed-up with a one-hour "phone screening" where I was given a relatively easy live coding exercise. Interestingly, while being an interview for a senior SRE position, I wasn't asked about infrastructure experience at all. The job listing focusing on Kubernetes, Terraform/AWS, and Scalability but these topics weren't brought up in the interview.
After the phone screening, I was told I'd hear back within a few days, but received no further communications.
They admitted they're still trying to figure out the interview process and filter for the right people, but there is clearly some work to do.
