I applied for this position on indeed for a small company that had been acquired by Blount. I went through 1 phone interview and 2 video interviews over the course of a month, and was under the impression they were prepared to make an offer, but the wanted me to come see the facility first since I was located in a different state and planning to relocate. They wanted to speak with my references so I got in touch with them, some of which I hadn’t worked with in years, and let them know what was happening. Then I had to do a background check which was much more intensive than other jobs I’ve gotten. They flew me across the country and got me a rental car and hotel, and my references let me know they had spoken to the company, and the calls were quite in depth and took almost an hour. Once I arrived I had a 4 hour tour/interview where I was shown everything in the factory and what my job functions would be. The job would be a lot of work and hours. They did not make me an offer there but I left with the feeling I made a good impression. A few days later I got an email telling me there was no offer. The whole process took around 2 months.
