I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Boots (Wolverhampton, England) in Apr 2026
Interview
Interviewed for a temporary Customer Advisor role at Boots. I arrived early and the overall interview experience felt overly formal and quite uncomfortable.
When the interviewer came in, they seemed very neutral and robotic, with little effort made to build rapport or help settle nerves at the beginning.
Personally, I felt the interviewer came across as quite judgemental, and it gave the impression that regardless of how well I answered the questions, they would have preferred someone with a similar personality, appearance, or overall vibe to themselves.
There wasn’t really any small talk or proper introduction — I’m pretty sure they didn’t even mention their name. The interview definitely felt more like a secondary school speaking exam than an actual conversation.
The questions themselves were heavily in-depth and scenario-based, so unless you already have prepared examples and stories beforehand, it can be difficult to answer confidently on the spot. This would be especially challenging for people with limited or no previous work experience, like me.
Overall, the process felt quite impersonal and rigid compared to my interview experience at Greggs.

Not bad, as long as you’re confident, they were very welcoming. It was a bit lengthy but I enjoyed it and come out feeling postive, it’s overall just to see if you’d be a good fit
Quick and easy. Standard retail interview. Was asked to talk about one of their products, to talk about myself. Was asked about my availability too. Good luck if you’re applying!

Interview
Lots of scenario based questions that are based around teamwork and communication, quite chill asked "why boots" at the beginning. Also a lot of the standard things such as right to work and availability.
