There were many red flags that popped up when I applied for this company. First of all when I was contacted about this role that clearly stated it was for a product position - they flipped the script and said that the role is more project oriented. Even though I was still interested, I find it very misleading when the job description they posted on Indeed varied from what they actually wanted.
I had made it to the final round for their onsite interview and it seemed like a less than hopeful place to work for. Many employees work overtime and it didn't seem like there was a great emphasis on work/life balance. Which can be understood given they are a startup however it is a lot to ask from someone given their company has more than 100 people. The team seems like a group of very talented individuals however, my interview was very off-putting. I remember very distinctly when my interviewer asked me when I suffered real hardship, excluding normal hardships like studying for a test, etc. It seemed like an inappropriate question and what made it worse is that the person asking it was very intense and did not smile at all during the interview and stared me down.
When I was rejected, the rejection was sent through a very generic email through a no-reply Indeed email. It seemed very informal and felt very disrespectful since I had travelled over 2 hours to go to their onsite and dedicated a lot of time for their interviews. A phone call would have been preferred or at least a more personalized email from someone on the team - not an automated generic email through Indeed. When I reached back out to the team thanking them for their time and requested some feedback - I was met with silence. Ultimately I had a bad experience with my interview here and I am glad I didn't get an offer to say the least.
