      Business Analyst Interview

      Jan 31, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Richmond Hill, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Brevitas Consulting (Richmond Hill, ON) in Jan 2019

      Interview

The first round was a quick phone screen which was followed by an in person interview at the consulting office. They told me if I qualified in this round they would have a quick pay discussion and work reference check and then a client interview would be scheduled. For the in person round at the consulting firm office, I was interviewed by a senior consultant and his team member. The questions were fairly straightforward to check the skills and experience as it relates to the position. I got a call a couple of days after to have the pay scale discussion and the work reference check details and they told me that they would schedule the client interview in the next couple of days but they never did. The whole process was quite bizarre, they make you fill out reference check forms even before starting the process. The interview at the consulting firm office was a complete waste of time as ultimately it all comes down to whether the client likes your profile and views it as a fit. It would be a lot convenient if they would just share the details to the client beforehand.

Dear candidate, Our recruitment process involves screening, technical review to ensure the candidate has the necessary skills, and finally the compensation review. Based on the interviews, skills and the professional growth plan desired by the candidate, we look for appropriate match with the available projects and then send the candidate's resume to the client project manager. Please understand that you are hired by Brevitas and therefore our employee. Brevitas has several projects from various clients . Your interview with the client is to ensure you get to know the expectations on the project and the client gets to know you. Therefore I am not clear as to why you would consider the interview process as a waste of time if you are applying for a job. In an interview you get the opportunity to decide whether the job is something that motivates and excites you enough to get out of bed each morning. It also gives the interviewer an opportunity to see if they would like to work with the candidate and get the best out of each other. I sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
