I interviewed for the new position of training manager, but through the course of this lengthy process, learned they've had trouble filling the position and what they really want is not realistic. They designed this position to oversee the L&D function, administer the LMS, act as a logistics admin ordering supplies and tracking attendance, facilitate training, develop training courses, and develop and manage a competency program. I spent approximately 5 hours in multiple interviews, not including the time spent prepping for a presentation. This entire process consisted of a phone screen interview with the new recruiter, a meeting with the new HR director and HR manager, then a presentation followed by rounds of one on ones with various stakeholders, and a tour of the facility (why was I expected to tour the facility before an offer?). It was an exhausting experience and I took time off my current role for these various interviews, missing about 2.5 days of work. I never heard back from CDI at all. While I'd provided basically free consulting on building a competency program through my presentation and the Q&A, they couldn't even be bothered to notify me that I'd been eliminated as a candidate for the position. This is extraordinarily unprofessional and speaks volumes about how this company values (or doesn't) value people. Total waste of time.
