There was a phone screen followed by an interview with hiring manager followed by a verbal offer, letter of intent, and then contract.
During the verbal offer an additional increase to remuneration after 6 months was negotiated and agreed upon with the hiring manager. The hiring manager then went on leave.
People and culture denied the remuneration clause for the contract, claiming no knowledge of it. I communicated that I was happy to wait until the hiring manager returned from leave to clear up the confusion.
People and culture then withdrew my employment offer in response to this.
Extremely unprofessional and borderline illegal conduct.
