      Director Interview

      Feb 7, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Checkr in Feb 2018

      Interview

HR was great. Seamless and quick. The 2 rounds went pretty fast and very communicative. And then there was radio silence which indicated that they moved forward with other candidates.

On behalf of recruiting at Checkr, I sincerely apologize. There should not be radio silence, even if we've decided not to move forward. Please feel free to reach out to my directly, and I can give you additional context/feedback and close the loop. - Arthur Yamamoto / Director of Recruiting

      Director Interview

      Dec 21, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Checkr in Oct 2022

      Interview

I have been considered for two positions at checkr, so I will outline both experiences. Both roles were Director-level rolese. The first I was reached out to by a recruiter and agreed to discuss the role. The recruiter stood me up the first time and was difficult connecting when we planned to reschedule. I did not move past this stage. The second position I interviewed went much smoother as it was with a different HR person. The conversation went great and I could see myself at the company. The next interview was with the hiring manager. This interview was difficult because they were using airpods that were muffling their voice, making it hard to decipher what was being asked or said. Regardless, I was moved on to the next phase with was three one-hour long interviews with various people at the company. They wanted this all to be in on day, back-to-back. It's doable, but for Director-level candidates, committing three hours of time in a single day when playing a significant role at your current company is difficult to step away from. I still made it work, but Checkr should be mindful about the time they ask from their candidates in a single sitting/day. I was then told the team would debrief within 48 hours. Instead, I did not hear back for a week, and when I was reached out to, I was told "there was an update" but was not told the update. I attempted to give the recruiter a few phone calls and emails over the next few days and never heard back. Finally, another week later, I was told I was no longer being considered for the role. Overall, I was initially very eager and excited by the opportunity. Every person I talked to was brilliant and I thought how lucky I'd be to work alongside this group of people. In the end, I disappointed by the delay in communication when I was not chosen to move forward after dedicating 5 hours of my valuable time in their hiring process.
