I applied online. I interviewed at Co-op (Okehampton, England) in Mar 2026
Interview
Very relaxed interview with set questions by the manager. He clearly loves his job and was very personable. Because of the atmosphere, I was myself and my personality came through. I felt I could be completely honest. We also went through my employment history & why I wanted to work for the Coop. He covered the training process, hours, pay etc. At the end, I could ask any questions but to be honest, he had superbly covered everything. I came out feeling that I realy wanted to be part of the team.
Thank you so much for sharing your interview experience with us. We're so pleased to hear that you had a great interview and that you've accepted the offer. Welcome to Co-op!

Interview
It was nice and smooth and very intuitive. I liked how I had help from the website to prepare for the interview and so I was able to fully explain my previous experience.

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Co-op (Stotfold, England) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview was relaxed and friendly. The interviewer asked questions about my availability, customer service, teamwork, and previous experience. They also explained the role and what it would involve. I had the opportunity to ask questions at the end, and the interview lasted around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Very impersonal. All done online and the logic between what constitutes a good or bad answer is totally unidentifiable. You would have better luck turning up in person and asking if you can hand in your CV and interview in person instead!
