I was contacted after emailing my resume. The owner/hiring manager (never provided their name throughout the entire process) sent me back a "questionnaire" which had some more basic questions but also questions they had no business asking, like "Do you have car insurance? Who is the provider?" I worry they may be collecting and selling data. I was contacted for an interview, and when I showed up the store's door was open but no one was in sight. I said "Hello?" a few times and nothing. Walked to the back room and the owner asked my name and to give them a few minutes. 10 minutes later, they return, completely disorganized and ranting about how all over the place they are right now. A customer walks in and the same thing happens to them. This place is terribly managed. They proceed to let me know that although I applied for manager or associate, the manager position was already filled by someone in house, and that they wouldn't have accepted me anyway because I have no Kiln experience. The Job listing said "Kiln experience is a plus" not a requirement. They go on another rant about how badly they don't want to work there anymore and they want to hand off all responsibilities, but they hired internally someone who I'm assuming doesn't know what they're doing, based on how the store is run. I say okay just to hear them out about the associate position, where they proceed to tell me that although they allow tattoos, excessive jewelry and nose rings are not allowed. All of this combined made me withdraw my application. There is a complete lack of transparency about "uniform requirements", the questionnaire I filled out didn't seem to even matter, because it was not referenced and I was asked the same questions I already answered. Organization was lacking, pay is minimum wage. This was a total waste of time and energy.
