      Senior Technical Program Manager Interview

      Apr 12, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Compass (New York, NY) in Apr 2019

      Interview

There was a call from internal recruiter, then a phone call with, I think, a hiring manager, then they have insisted on a another "technical" phone call . And after that should be a call on-site for multiple interviews. Recruiter was very nice and professional to deal with. Hiring manager one was also very good and positive. The "technical" one was also positive from my point of view - we have talked on systems design and then they sent me a link to a coderpad to have a live coding exercise (unexpected really for this type of position!). But still I have nailed down the logic. Interviewer was in a rush to finish the interview. I have compiled it right after the call and sent to them. He responded with thanks. Did not hear from them for few days after. After 3 phone calls they have insisted on another "technical" phone call which I think did not make any sense for this position. They probably already found someone for the position or whatever, so I did not want to waste my time speaking for nothing, and they have passed on this saying that they would re-purpose this position to be "more hands-on coding: one!? Explanation did not make any sense, but this is the best what recruiter was able to come up with, I guess...
