Anonymous Interview Candidate in Oak Ridge, TN
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security (Oak Ridge, TN) in Jan 2023
The interview is personal, very casual and took less than an hour. It was non-technical so it was more about personality. There was a panel of 3 CNS supervisors or managers. It is a pleasant interview.
- What mistake did you make and how did you handle it?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Amarillo, TX
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security (Amarillo, TX) in Dec 2022
Got back to me within less than a week after application submission. The individuals who were interviewing me: the best interviewers I’ve had. Extremely patient and well-spoken. The interview left you feeling not flustered or anything along those lines. No questions at all trying to trip you up. Extremely professional to the highest degree. It was all behavioral and questions asked based on your resume such as your experience.
- How do you deal with conflict? Give a time when you had to deal with a situation like that.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security in Oct 2022
Was contacted by them to complete an interview. Was an hour long interview with multiple people on the development team. Then was contacted about a week later with an offer.
- What is a challenging problem you faced and how did you approach it?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Oak Ridge, TN
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security (Oak Ridge, TN)
First was a phone call, then a virtual interview with the HR representative and the current admin asking character and skills-based questions. Shortly thereafter came the in-person interview which was more to gauge personality and where the prospective admin and staff being supported could have a conversation about the position and communication styles/expectations.
- How would you describe your level of experience with various software packages? Describe a time you made a positive impact on someone else.

Applied on Indeed. Got a call back later that day to schedule an interview two days later. Interview was standard and went well, got an offer less than two weeks later.
- Tell us about a time you had trouble with a coworker

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security
Pretty Straight Forward. The interviewers were very polite and patient. They wanted to hear more about candidate capabilities, achievements, and what candidate will bring on board. It was an online interview.
- Tell us more about yourself? Why do you want to work with us?

Anonymous Employee
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security in Jun 2021
The interview was conducted via Web Interface. The interview was based on the STAR method: Situation: Describe the situation and when it took place. Task: Explain the task and what was the goal. Action: Provide details about the action you took to attain this. Result: Conclude with the result of your action. Very professional interview, the interviewers answered all of the questions that I had about the company and process.
- Tell us a time when you had to make an unpopular decision?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security
All situational type questions. They wanted all STAR type answers. Then each first question usually had 2-4 follow up pre scripted questions. All interviewees were interviewed using the same package if questions for the e specific role.
- Describe a time when you had a stressful situation.
- Describe a time where you had a conflict with a coworker.

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security
The interview used the STAR question format for part of it. It also used general work history questions. About a fifth fifty split. The interview was laid back which made it much more comfortable.
- One example of a issue with a coworker.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Amarillo, TX
I applied online. I interviewed at Consolidated Nuclear Security (Amarillo, TX) in Jun 2020
I applied online and was contacted 2 months later by HR to set up an interview with the hiring manager and one of their employees. That interview happened 5 days after contact with HR. I NEVER received a response on my status. After 5 weeks post interview, the status changed to they are considering other candidates. I had emailed HR twice and was ghosted. They never responded. That is a horrible way to treat candidates and know that word spreads quickly. No wonder the DOE is not renewing CNS's contract. Luckily, I landed a role with a different employer so it worked out for the best. The interview style was behavioral so be prepared with examples.
- Tell me about at time you dealt with a difficult coworker.
