Observations
• The Interviewer Mismatch: The final-stage interview for a creative leadership role was conducted exclusively by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). While I provided detailed examples of my executive experience, including managing programs worth millions of dollars and leading strategic initiatives, the focus remained rigid and mismatched with the required creative vision.
Severe Process and Conduct Failures
1. Dismissive Conduct: The interview began with minor, expected technical difficulties. The CFO displayed an immediate, visibly dismissive demeanor and unprofessional lack of patience, allowing a minor technical issue to overshadow a discussion of high-level professional qualifications.
2. Lapse in Professional Integrity: The CFO explicitly stated that they would follow up with next steps. They then proceeded to ghost me, the candidate, for over three weeks. This complete breakdown in communication and failure to honor a simple professional commitment is unacceptable, especially from an executive-level representative.
3. Organizational Disconnect: This process reflects poorly on the company's business outlook and internal leadership structure. To receive positive internal referrals and then be subjected to such an unprofessional experience at the final stage suggests a fundamental mismanagement of candidate experience and poor strategic alignment within the C-Suite.
