The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DRW (New York, NY) in Oct 2011
Interview
There was a casual meet and greet the night before where candidates met with their possible interviewers and asked whatever remaining questions they had. The interview was 30 minutes long. It was mostly background questions and fit questions, why you want to be a trader. I was expecting brain teasers but was surprised that I got none. One question on investing in markets. They were very nice but the interview did not result in an offer.
I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at DRW (London, England) in Feb 2025
Interview
The process lasted a total of 6 months, with a total of 7 interviews, a mix of technical interviews and tests. I had 2 'final' interviews.
The whole time I was kept in the dark about the status of my application and reasons for delay, despite constantly requesting this information. I asked to have a call, only to be told that the role isn't going to be filled and that they've lost the headcount. Terrible treatment on the back of a terribly managed process.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DRW
Interview
The phone interview was primarily based on personality and fit questions, with a couple of brainteasers included near the end. There were almost no technical questions included, aside from the online mental math quiz.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If I gave you $100,000, what would you do with it? How many quarters would it take to fill a 20x20x10 foot room?
HR was very helpful, Interview time was arranged by email. Interviewer did not make you feel at ease but it is completely random who you get. A relatively important issue is that the call you through speakerphone and the sound coming through is somewhat muffled.
