I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Databricks in Jan 2024
Interview
Several rounds of interviews including with a very responsive and helpful recruiter, the hiring manager, current members of the team and a senior leader. A coding assessment was given early, and the process ended with a comprehensive presentation showcasing all of the skills required to preform well in the role. All references provided were checked with a 15 minute call at the end. Hiring the wrong person for a role can be expensive for any organization, so while the amount of assessment at first seemed long and difficult its made me respect Databricks even more as a company that each employee is properly vetted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to review several solutions that I had led previously, explaining from an architecture perspective and then from a project management perspective. I was also asked to explain how I might improve upon those project's solutions with Databricks, or with the advances in Databricks since that solution was implemented.
It was a very fun and good process, your time is valued and you are treated very well.
Would highly recommend that anyone who wants to do so to go for this position.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Databricks (London, England) in Oct 2025
Interview
A structured hiring process. Multiple rounds that included recruiter screening interview, hiring manager interview, coding assignment, technical interview, stakeholder interview, panel presentation and finally a senior executive interview. Took around 6 weeks from the time of application to complete all the rounds.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
As the role was more customer facing, they wanted to assess the stakeholder management capabilities more than the technical capabilities.
recruiter, hm, tech, presentation, director and vp rounds.
The recruiter ghosted after the tech round, although the tech round went really good. Simple questions, basic databricks skills, apache spark required but not mentioned in the job desc
