The interviewing process was a challenging but very positive experience. I submitted my resume on a holiday weekend and surprisingly, got a telephone the following Tuesday morning. The Recruiter was professional and was knowledgeable about the field of study I was pursuing as a professor. The first question she asked was I sure I was prepared to relocate as my application indicated to save us both some time. Recruiter was good at deciding if the conversation could proceed and jumped right in and said if was her responsibility to make me an offer I could not refuse! This I could not believe. This gave me the courage to dive in and ask some really hard questions early on and we chatted for a long time about things unusual on a first discussion, e.g. salary, title. In fact, she proposed a salary and I countered and she said ok. She proposed a title, and I countered and she said she had to get approval. Approval came about 10 days later. She asked key questions about my needs, wants and values along with explaining the process, i.e. telephone interview then face-to-face interview that involved travel to be interviewed by 6 others with a 20 minute presentation.
