My interview experience with Deel was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Communication was poor from the start—I had to follow up multiple times just to get updates throughout the process. After my initial Elevate interview, I followed up myself, and only then was I scheduled for another interview with a different hiring manager.
In total, I went through four rounds of interviews and completed a task, which required a significant amount of time, energy, and preparation. After all that, they informed me they were not moving forward via an automated email—not even a courtesy call or personalized message. It felt cold and dismissive, especially after investing so much into the process.
For a company that specializes in HR and payroll, the lack of basic professionalism and candidate care is disappointing. I hope they take steps to improve their communication and overall candidate experience moving forward, because this experience left a very negative impression.
