Summary: 3 interviews over a 2 month period, approximately 7+ hours of time invested… Refused to give pay range. No offer. Generic rejection email.
First interview - Short 10 minute call with Talent Acquisition Manager that verified information given on application.
Second Interview - Scheduled 45 minute virtual interview with senior designer. Interviewer ran over time by 45 minutes (a total of an hour and a half). I was given more information about the position, slightly different from job posting. SEVERAL questions, most regarding how I react to conflict or issues in work environments. Very little regarding my graphic design experience. I asked for an approximate pay range and was told he was not allowed to give that information.
Third Interview - Drove 1.5 hours to in-person interview. I was scheduled for a 1.5 hour interview. I met with the senior designer, as well as the designer that would be training the new hire. The second designer spoke poorly about the work environment, stating how stressful the job can be and how difficult communication is across the company. She asked me a couple questions I had been asked in the previous interviews. I was then overloaded with a ton of information about all of the tasks I would be required to do, many of which were not described in the job posting nor what would usually be expected in a graphic design position. They had me tour a good portion of the facility, most of the time was spent discussing tasks between one another that they needed to complete, not relevant to my interview. I was then dropped off to a third design team member, who was their boss. He ran through the same exact questions I had been asked more than once or twice now. I was told this would be the conclusion of the interview, but instead was taken to continue touring more of the facility, which felt exhausting and overly extensive at this point. The interview did not conclude until almost an hour over the scheduled time, making the interview a total of 2.5 hours. As I was escorted back to the front, I was not given any information about when I would be contacted further.
A few days after my last interview, I contacted HR/Talent Acquisition asking for an approximate date to expect to hear back as well as a pay range for the position as I still had not been given one. I also explained that due to me having to relocate for this position, I was in need of these details in order to start taking necessary steps. It took them days to reply, and they gave me a vague response about the timeline. I was also told they will not be sharing the pay range.
The very next day, I was sent a generic rejection email that stated they would not be moving forward with my application. I was not given any specific feedback, which was highly disappointing after the amount of time invested. My impression of this company is that they are highly inconsiderate of candidates' time.
