I applied online. I interviewed at Doist in Jul 2017
Interview
The interview processes began with a Skype conversation with the head of Windows development. Because that conversation went well, we proceeded to the coding part of the interview process were I was given a project, for which I was compensated, and 12-16 hours to complete it. The project itself was quite interesting, and easy to complete in the time allotted. Once it was complete and a code review completed, I had two additional Skype calls with the CTO and COO.
In the end, to my regret, I was not able to accept a position with Doist due to my salary requirements, but perceive this is not a fault of Doist, but rather a combination of living in an expensive area when applying for a remote position with a global company, and being senior but applying for a mid-level position for which the salary was appropriate.
I loved every minute of the interview process, had the opportunity to meet several amazing people on the Doist team, and came away from the experience the better for it. I would greatly recommend Doist, Todoist, Twist, and the Doist blog to any one considering remote work in the software industry.
