I applied online. I interviewed at EF (Education First) in Dec 2020
Interview
The interview process was nice. I've worked for many online ESL companies for 2.5 years. After awhile, the interviewing process gets old because they want you to perform and give all of these demos to consider your hire. However, with EF, they seemed to have changed this process.
The interview was about the company, your interest, and their curriculum style. Then if hired, you would go through training and demos. Although I am experienced, this process was much better because it didn't make you anxious and on edge.
It was relaxed and I actually felt like a human teacher instead of a clown.

The basics:

The interview was okay, The lady was really nice. But unfortunately I did not get an offer. The interview took about 20 minutes. She wanted to know about my experience and teaching philosophy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What are the challenges you faced when teaching young students
The ESL interview typically is Online with Academic Director. Easy straightforward questions. No teaching demo. Situational questions to assess classroom management skills, adaptability, and cultural awareness. Even if you don't have teaching experience, there is a high chance to land ESL job there.
I interviewed at EF (Education First) (Shanghai, Shanghai)
Interview
Easiest interview I've had, they talked more as if I already had the job. Asking questions like where in china did I want to be. Don't stress, just be relaxed and talk about why you want to teach and why you want to live in china.
