I applied online. I interviewed at Education Perfect (Dunedin, Otago) in Sep 2024
Interview
Got to know me as a person, asked about extracirccular activites and previous work experience before concluding with whether I had any questions for them. It was done online and felt a bit rushed as they seemed to have received a lot of applicants
Got to stage 1 of the interview and filled out an online assessment. Consisted of a few questions involving latex, JS, and annotating diagrams. They responded after around two weeks for a follow up
I recently interviewed for an Account Manager role and initially had a very positive experience with the Talent Acquisition team. The first conversation was warm, professional and left me feeling excited about the opportunity.
Unfortunately, my experience changed significantly when I met with the hiring manager. I found the interview style quite intense and, at times, confronting. The tone felt very aggressive, which made the conversation uncomfortable and difficult to navigate. By the end of the interview, I felt quite unsettled, which was disappointing given how positive the process had started.
I appreciate that different interviewers have different styles, but I believe candidate experience is super important. A more respectful approach would have made a big difference.
