      Sales Interview

      Feb 9, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Egnyte

      Interview

The recruiter called me to discuss my background and my experience. He is quick to bringing you in and to sell you on the company. He invited me to an onsite interview a few days after the phone interview to meet with the sales team. The interview with the sales manager and sales reps are standard and not very well organized. Do your homework and research the group you are interviewing with and the people you will be working with. This is your place if you want to be a part of a fraternity.

      Interview

The interview process is long and drawn out. Appears to be a disorganized company. Too many interviews with various people at the company. None of the interviews were challenging, but this was a time consuming process.

      Question 1

Typical sales role questions about building pipeline, closing deals, and relationship management.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Egnyte (Mountain View, CA) in Sep 2014

      Interview

I applied online and got a phone call from a recruiter shortly after. He asked good questions and took the time to understand my professional background then invited me for an in-person interview - he represented the company very well. You can tell this company strives to hire the right fit the first time, they had me sit with three other employees in the role I would be doing and talked about the pros/cons and tried to understand my experience and how I'd fit in. Then I met with the VP who was friendly, consultative, and a pleasure to talk to. I definitely wanted to work for him after the interview, I could tell I'd learn a lot. Unfortunately ... they didn't get back to me until I had already accepted another position, otherwise I would have definitely continued the conversation.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

It was consultative, they assess who you are as person, your personality, and your strengths and weaknesses. They are really looking for a strong cultural fit who will have the work ethic to succeed. There are no trick questions, you just need to be yourself.
