The interview process itself was quite long. After applying in February, I finally had my first interview in April. Despite being promised a swift process, over a week passed without any updates. Following this, a second round interview involved a time-consuming task that took six hours to complete.
Despite my enthusiasm for the role, the communication from the company was severly lacking. Another two weeks went by with no word, except for the fact that they reached out to my references. Finally, on April 29th, they extended me an offer for $57,000. This was disappointing considering the very high cost of living in the area and my research indicating a market value of $63,000-$66,000 for similar roles.
What truly baffled me was that the salary they offered fell at the bottom of their own posted range of $57,000-$60,000.
It felt deceptive and disheartening. Overall, I found the discrepancy between the posted salary range and the actual offer to be a major red flag.
It's disappointing to see a company not live up to its own advertised standards. I would caution others to carefully consider their expectations before pursuing opportunities with this organization.
