      Executive Assistant Interview

      Aug 25, 2016
      Anonymous employee
Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Equinix (Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Digital interview. Inhouse recruiter emailed me standard Congratulations, you've got an interview. Followed up with an email from HR asking for salary requirement and availability. A digital interview is set up online. Quite dehumanising and daunting if you aren't used to capturing yourself on video. From what I've read only 7% of what you say is taken into account. The algorithm focuses on body language cues and tone of voice. Given, this was my first time recording my answers to the ether and I found it an uncomfortable experience, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get invited to a face to face. Up to this point, I have not spoken to any recruiter, it has all been done via email. There is no way to quantify your answers or to ask about salary negotiation. Perhaps, as an individual I would take a cut in salary to work closer to home or have flexi-working hours, but the recruiter won't know this as a human conversation hasn't taken place. I know we need to move with the times and this is cheaper and quick but is it possible to replace human interaction with a static video and algorithm. Waiting to hear if I "passed" the computer or it I got a "computer says No". Time will tell and I will follow up on this review. The experience was uncomfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your interview experience. We view digital interviews as an opportunity to get to know candidates better than we could by simply reviewing a resume/CV. The majority of our candidates find this to be a very positive experience. We do our best to contact all candidates by phone and we’re sorry this was not your experience. We will use your feedback to continue to do better by all our candidates.
