The HR department is one of the most unorganized I have come across. During the initial phone screen, salary was discussed and my expectations were disclosed. HR said I was in line with their range. A Zoom call was set up with the hiring manager/his manager and myself. After the Zoom call, HR set up an on-site tour with the hiring manager and some other local management. The trip was to be reimbursed according to HR seeing as it was a long travel. After 2 months of emailing and some ignored emails regarding the mileage, I finally got a response asking again my salary requirements (no mention of reimbursement)....which turns out to be approx 15-20 k lower than what was discussed in the initial phone screen. Had I known that initially, I would have never wasted time to drive there; also, still no reimbursement. If interviewing, require all/most expenses paid up front if possible as I found reimbursement impossible. Also, verify salary expectations with the hiring manager as well, which I regret I did not do. No issues while on site with the hiring manager/his manager as they were both accommodating, informative and pleasant.
