I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Forward in Jan 2022
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me. I've previously completed part of the application process ~2 years prior, and got to tour the officer + SF facility back then.
- Intro chat with recruiter
Standard
- Technical Coding challenge
LC-like challenge on coderpad with one interviewer (choice of language, TS instead of JS)
I've read other Glassdoor reviews regarding the "odd" (others use stronger words) choice of questions, and decided to give it a shot to see for myself. I passed the tech interview and was offered to schedule a virtual onsite.
What put me off and made me decline to continue was the incessant emphasis on "why/how you align with Forward" and "what kinds of other companies are you applying to" etc., which mirrors the negative experiences reflected by other Glassdoor reviews.
Got a call for a phone screen for background fit that was rescheduled twice. Consisted mainly of general behavioral questions. Did not get a call back for a technical round.

Question 1
What's your long term career plan?
what do you know about our company.?

Interview
Incredibly negative experience from my personal experience and heavily confirms some of the other feedback reviews posted here on Glassdoor.
I was interviewing for the general Software Engineering and made it to the onsite interview.
What they neglected to mention until after the onsite that it was actually for the 'Senior' level role which I wasn't interested in applying.
I was rejected because I could not 'meet the bar' for the senior role that I had not applied to when I thought I was interviewing for the general Software Engineering role. Was this purposely done?
Typical growing pains of a start up company with a clumsy interview process conducted.
If Forward overlooks this type of basic information during the interview process, then I would personally not look Forward to being a patient of theirs.
