      Manager-In-Training Interview

      Feb 17, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Palo Alto, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at Free People (Palo Alto, CA)

      Interview

Unprofessional, I waited 15 minutes for the store manager to show up. None of the girls there knew there was an interview scheduled. I ended up talking to the assistant manager instead, and it was her first time interviewing so she had no idea what she was doing. They asked basic questions, and afterwards they asked me to create an outfit for someone going to Coachella. The interview lasted about 45 minutes and the store manager still didn’t show up. Super unprofessional and the questions that were asked during the interview were novice both the person asking them and the level of thought put into it.

      Manager In Training Interview

      Mar 6, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Free People in Dec 2018

      Interview

The interview process was both easy and hard at the same time. The questions they asked were very simple, the general things you'd think an employer would ask BUT, and this is why this experience is one star for me. I started the interview in mid-December of 2018 and they strung me along making me think I was going to be hired for THREE MONTHS. They interviewed multiple times, one of which I was told about less than 12 hours before the interview and I had to drive out during severe weather. The GM gave me her personal email and we corresponded that way and then when I finally reached out and asked for an answer at the nearly three month mark because one can only go for so long unemployed they essentially told me that they really liked me but the entire time the position I applied for was already filled and they were keeping me on hold because of that. Now that is totally fine if they are transparent about that at the beginning of the process but they were absolutely not. They led me to believe I was interviewing for a position that needed to be filled. The communication was awful and this entire situation has been so incredibly irritating.
