I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Free People (Jacksonville, FL) in Apr 2022

      Interview

The person I interviewed with was rude. I was sick so I had to reschedule my interview. We initially agreed on 1pm Tuesday but I remembered I had an appointment at that time. So we again rescheduled and agreed on 5pm Tuesday. When I arrived the vibe was off, she seemed disappointed when she saw me. On our way outside to start the interview she turns back to me and says, "So you just thought the interview was at 5pm and not 2pm?" I kept my composure and corrected her. Her response was, "Oh yeah, you're right there's been a lot going on today." So I'm expected to have grace and understanding for you, but you can throw shade and be petty with me? She was wrong anyway because it wasn't supposed be at 2pm initially but at 1pm. I pretty much decided I wasn't going to take the job after that. A simple " Hello, there may have been a misunderstanding..." would've been appropriate. I was sick and I managed to set up this interview. You're in leadership and didn't prep and is petty when mistakes are made ON YOUR PART! At the conclusion of the interview I asked what means do they use to make sales, "are you more aggressive or laidback in your approach.". She obviously assumed I was trying to get out of working to hard. Her response, "We are not lazy here. There is always something to do. You'll never see us standing around doing nothing." I asked because I've been in roles where I was told to, "Add it to the customers basket even if they don't need it." I don't agree with that at all, It's frankly disgusting. Anyway I had to explain that to her plainly and the answer she gave wasn't very convincing. She pretty much contradicted herself by saying, " Oh, no we don't do that. But we do try our best to make goal." Apart from increasing foot traffic and and giving discounts to entice customers, you literally can't MAKE your goal happen without FORCING customers to but things they don't need. Why do we keep pretending this isn't the case?
