Applied online June 13 and received a message from the hiring manager a few days later asking to schedule an interview for the following week. Had the video interview with the hiring manager and another person on staff.
The video interview was only 15 minutes long and the hiring manager only asked why I wanted to work at Freelancer while explaining that the role came about because of the recent NASA tender which they secured mere days before the interview. Other person asked about my approach to project management. That was literally it. I was not even given a chance to ask them questions and was a little puzzled when the interview was cut short without explanation. There wasn't much said in terms of next steps either because as soon as I answered the last question, I was cut short by the hiring manager who said that they'll think about what I've said.
Needless to say, the hiring manager never got back to me, nor did they bother sending even a template rejection. Textbook ghosting behaviour. The shortened interview plus the lack of openness in answering questions left a really bad taste in my mouth, and made me wonder what they were hiding. I wanted to ask questions about what part of the NASA tender Freelancer was handling - I figured this was important to clarify since in press releases about the tender, it's mentioned that this was jointly awarded to Freelancer and a couple other crowdsourcing platforms like HeroX (which the hiring manager didn't even mention).
