Round 1 - Basic introduction, experience and profile discussion, A lady took the interview. She was a Director. She was quite clueless about the M&A Integration process. She explained in detail about to role and was checking my confidence if I'd be able to deliver. The interview lasted 1.5 hours as she was taking notes. Verdict - Long but went well.
Round 2 - Traditional and old interview format - tell me something about yourself, strengths/weakness etc. Probably one of the most boring interviews I've ever been a part of. The senior gentlemen (in his mid 50s) was highly disinterested and bored. He did not even know about the profile I was being interviewed for ( as he claimed he had 4-5 interviews lined up) Frequent internet issues at his end (in spite of him being in office) added to it. Verdict - Long, boring and perception driven.
The senior management at GSK GCC is quite clueless about the roles and the profile they intend to hire for. People with operations experience are in the interview panel for Finance Change/ M&A roles - not sure how do they intend identify the right fit. One of the seniors were quite open that they've been tasked by the onshore in London to recruit here hence they've been hunting for people in Bangalore
