1. Leetcode - classic questions. 2 of them,
2. Critical thinking / technical interview - Want to see you can think through problems
3. Half day in person coding - Seeing if your technical ability is up to scratch
4. Personality fit interview - Interview with many people and is pretty informal
I interviewed at Galatea Associates LLC (London, England)
Interview
1st stage was talking aboyt CV, and doing a design q for an elevator. Focus on how it operates, i.e. what data structure it would use to decide where to go (priority queue). 2nd stage was a 4-6 hr interview (coding assessment). Mine was designing repos (repurchase agreements), but was designing an algorithm. I didn't prepare enough for the first part, so I was let go before lunch.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Galatea Associates LLC (Durham, NC) in Oct 2022
Interview
Long, difficult interviews. Very selective process. Phone screen with 3rd party recruiter -> System Design with team -> 6 hour live programming assessment -> 1 hour behavioral interview. Everyone I spoke to was smart and personable. This is a small company and they definitely aren't mass hiring software engineers. I really felt like they tried to get to know me and make sure I knew everything I needed to know about working at the company. The base pay I was offered was significantly higher than what's posted on Glassdoor. Glassdoor's salaries must be very outdated.
