I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Galderma (Sydney) in Feb 2019
Interview
Got a call from HR to interview for the role. I waited at reception and everyone was walking in/out with plumped up lips (fillers) or facelifts. Apparently, it's a perk of working there!
I met with the line manager who'd only been there for a few weeks and she explained that the company was up for tender so job stability was possibly questionable. The person in the role is solely responsible for category and shopper - quite a stretch but doable and I decided to take the risk, as I knew they could benefit from my expertise and also the opportunity cost is that I currently don't have a job.
I completed the personality and psych tests and was invited to present a case study on Cetaphil and how to improve its on shelf presence in Priceline.
A lot of effort was made in preparing the macro environment study, observations and recommendations. There was a panel of 4 people at the case study. They couldn't get their act together and the projector wasn't working so I was moved from one room to another upstairs.
I could see the line manager constantly looking at the MD and not me when I was presenting, so I knew she was a key decision maker. However, I was abruptly asked to finish at 40min by the MD who said she'd heard enough and got an understanding of my style. I thought this could've been handled more delicately by notifying me a few minutes earlier that I had eg 5 minutes left.
I answered all their questions and thought I did well, but I didn't hear from them for almost a week and then received a generic email from HR. I was pretty upset by this, as it shows how unprofessional their processes are in HR and how they don't really care about their candidates or the impression they leave behind.
