A current employee referred me to the company and forwarded my resume to the hiring manager (one of the managing directors). I had a phone interview that lasted 30 minutes. It was a basic behavioral interview. Asking about past work experience, working in teams, learning new tasks easily, if I was willing to travel, microsoft office skills, etc.
A few days later I was invited into the office for a final interview. Mine was with 3 people. Managing director I spoke with over the phone, a senior marketing associate, and another managing director. Each interview lasts 30-45 minutes and are pretty much all behavioral. They're looking to see if you are energetic and not shy. They want someone who is looking to start a career in CPG (consumer packaged goods). They look for strong analytical skills and previous data analysis using excel.
The senior marketing associate will ask you a technical question about how to manipulate data through excel. You will need to explain your method of consolidating, organizing, and reporting the data. Think about specific functions like sumif, countif, vlookup, etc. Also think about how you will convert your table into a pivot table and then transfer graphs and tables into a powerpoint presentation.
I was offered a one week "trial period" where they could further evaluate my performance. Then offered a full time position.
