Gather interview questions

The process started with two interview calls. The first call was with the hiring manager and then the second call was with the department manger. The department and hiring manager were both very kind and easy to talk to and at times, it didn't even feel like an interview. The last interview was face to face at their office in Atlanta. I got there around 9 and it lasted until around 11. It wasn't an all day thing although, it did feel like the time went by faster as I was really enjoying myself! When I first got there, we took a tour of the office, and met a couple of people along the way (most of the people I met there were really warm and welcoming). After the tour of the office, I sat down with the hiring manger and the department lead. I went over my experience, how it would benefit Gather, what I want out of working with Gather...all the usual. The interview wasn't hard and I felt that I was really getting somewhere. I will say that Gather did a good job of making sure that the prospects felt confident during the process. I wasn't as nervous as I was when I first walked in and it helped me answer questions clearly and concisely. After the interview with the managers, I got to speak one of the team leads. She gave me an overview of their daily task, department culture, and such the like. I said goodbye to the hiring manager and department lead and then I went to work...lol. I got an email later on that day and was told that they decided to hire someone else because they had more experience in hospitality... (my experience was a customer services rep at a vendor specifically tailored to apartment complexes). I was very disappointed because it felt like a huge let down. I felt like that was something that could have been determined at the second phone interview without me going out to the office and swooning over what life would be like at Gather. Anyway, I did receive a call from the hiring manager who apologized for the automated email and he told me I deserved more than that...no matter how disappointed or annoyed I was, that demanded a lot of respect for these guys. All in all, the interview process was good. I can't blame them. I was disappointed but life moves on. Just know that "what's for you, is for you!" Good luck!

I applied for the position then was contacted to fill out a cognitive and personality assessment. These assessments can create a lot of biases around perceived "IQ" or "EQ" so I was a little hesitant to fill it out. However, I did so and then they rejected my application. When I asked for feedback their team didn't reach out and I was left in the dark as to why I didn't move forward. I have to say, the experience was not very personal or enjoyable for a Computer Software company.
