I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Google in Jan 2017
Interview
The Overall interview process was pretty good. The interviewer was very pleasant to talk to and the questions were to the point. The sad part about the entire process was the HR recruiter that was assigned to me after the interview. No communication bridge was made after the interview. I expect that from some startups, but, not from a established company like google. It's been 20 days since the interview and i have no feedback. On being contact 10 days after the interview, i was told the interviewer was still working on the feedback and would take time, but, on being asked after another 10 days, there was no communication whatsoever.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the questions were related to DR process, questions around ftping a file to multiple servers from one server by leveraging the network pipe completely, any 2 db wait events, how would you debug a slow running query and what would you bring to the table?
The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Google (Bengaluru) in Oct 2019
Interview
I have been recently interviewed
Round 1: HR Screening
I have been asked few basic technical question based on my profile before qualifying for the next round
Round 2: Technical ( on site)
This round was scheduled over google hangouts( video call) with on-site engineer for about 45 mins. my interview lasted for 37 min in which i have been asked 4 technical question which i felt only one was related to my expertise
Final conclusion:
Felt screening round had more technical question than the round 2
Confused to be happy or sad for not passing the round 2
Suggestion:
It’s google, questions can come from anywhere, need not to be related to your profile. Be prepared.
