      Communications Interview

      Aug 3, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Google in May 2010

      Interview

For the Google Interview, I went through 1 phone screen and a skills test. The phone screen went very well and the interviewer was great. I really enjoyed speaking with her. She was friendly and asked many questions regarding my background. At the end of the interview, she told me I would have to take a skills test. Although she did not ask for my SAT score, she did ask for my GPA. I guess this was common. For the skills test, I was given a couple of days to research and write. I submitted the test and within days I was told that I had not received the job. Overall, the experience was okay. I think that the reason I was not chosen was because of my GPA.

      Interview

It was in collaboration with my university so pretty smooth. The management was there in addition to the interviewing faculty. The questions were more relevant to the skillet and job experience but also participation within the university.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Google (Austin, TX) in Apr 2022

      Interview

Applied via referral from someone internally, then had a call with the recruiter. Did an interview with hiring manager after, then completed an assignment, then interviewed with two peers. I prepared extensively and had many examples to speak to from my experience. I also researched the product I was interviewing for. I kept a 12 page google doc with tons of answers prepared and stories, and this helped tremendously. The questions weren’t hard — things I’d expect for any comms interview. The whole process took 7 weeks, like they said it would. I sent thank you notes to the people I interviewed with after each interview.

Can’t answer this as I am under NDA, but there was nothing surprising. No gotcha questions.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google (London, England) in Jun 2011

      Interview

BVrief, friendly, competency based interview. It was challenging yet very engaging. I enjoyed it but there were also ponts I found difficult. I would recommend the company to a friend.
