I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Google in Jan 2022
Interview
Very lengthy - Resume screening It took about one month to receive a message from a recruiter. - 2 technical interviews They are brilliant and incredible engineers. I got positive feedback after two weeks. - host matching process For some reason, sometimes they tend not to match you with suitable hosts, which can take weeks between interviews (after you did not match with one). This spanned over 2.5 months and had 4 host matching sessions.

Question 1
Coding: - Binary search in a string - A searchable catalogue class using a hashmap Other: - What is your experience? - Why did you study Computer Science? - What are your interests? (trick question during host matching interviews: share only what interests you and your potential host. Oversharing might give the host a bad impression.
As expected from a Google interview, it consists of a phone interview and a technical interview. In my opinion, with the skill level Google is looking for, the interview is fair and accurately tests the ability of a candidate. I imagine the interview for full-time positions is harder, but as an intern, I felt that it was the right amount of difficulty and complexity.
there is no online assessment, very simple phone call, then two technicals. technicals are not difficult by any means. then you get put into team matching, after a couple months
