I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Google (Sydney) in Mar 2024
Interview
An informal interview, then 1 HR interview, 1 Job Talk, 2 Coding Interviews, and 2 Research interviews. One research interview is general, and one research interview is specific to ones research subject. As a recent development it is the hiring manager that does the HR interview. The process is quite slow.

I applied online. I interviewed at Google (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Coding interviews, research interviews, job talks, and behavioral interviews. The behavioral interviews were standard, designed to assess cultural fit, teamwork, and professional conduct. The coding assessments followed the standard LeetCode style, focusing on problem-solving and algorithmic thinking on whiteboard. Interviews are quite professional and warm. They asked questions based on my research.
First some basic introduction about yourself, and from each topic or research direction, you are asked more details. Finally they asked more about LLMs. And later ask you to code on LLM and explain what is transformer
