The interview process was a joke, at best. I was referred by a network connection to interview for this position, and was asked to contact the manager of the franchise location. I took an online assessment and spoke to a corporate contact. After passing all initial inspection, I was told to wait to be contacted by the manager of the location I was applying for. Oddly enough, this corporate contact told me that if I didn't hear from the manager to set up a formal interview within the week, to please let him know...that should have been the red flag. I finally received a call from the manager to set up the interview the following week. I ended up having two interviews with two different people. The actual interviews went extremely well, with both individuals expressing their enthusiasm towards my background, experience, personality and overall qualifications. The problem with the interview process was that in between interviews, weeks passed during which I was having to consistently reach out to the manager to schedule the second interview. Also, during the second interview, the (male) manager subtly mentioned that although I seemed like a great fit, they were looking for a man to fill the position that I was interviewing for. I was asked to contact them within a week to find out what the next step in the process would be. After multiple attempts each week for the next month, and countless e-mails and phone calls, I assumed that they were no longer interested. I didn't receive a single e-mail or phone call in response, and I wasted my time, gas and efforts interviewing for this position. The entire process, despite my best efforts, took FOUR MONTHS. I reiterate, for one phone interview and two face-to-face interviews, it took from the end of July to mid November.
