I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Greenway Mortgage in Oct 2020
Interview
Was contacted by this company while having no prior mortgage processing experience. Was told about a Processor position & the perks. Had an initial phone screening, then was scheduled for a phone interview with other managers. They raved about my background (within a different industry) but felt I would catch on to the processing aspect very quickly. No one could really ballpark a salary range for me, even though the role was described as entry-level & that they were looking to fill it asap. So after successful interviews I get extended a (potential) offer, which I was willing to accept and move on to a slightly different industry. After politely asking if we could possibly bump the salary a little more & for a physical offer letter, I then received a follow-up email the very next morning indicating that they decided to hold off on hiring. Yikes! So much for the urgency in wanting to fill the position. For the record, I was good with what they were willing to compensate initially, and was ready to sign an offer on my end. Was just curious if they could throw in a few extra bucks, not thousands. The Experience was a bit strange & felt like a few red flags went up. I felt they were not willing to entertain the idea of salary negotiation. Then was told they were now concerned with my lack of mortgage processing experience as the reason. I didn’t even apply for the position, they came to me.
