Gwynedd Manufacturing interview questions

I was entering a third round of interviews when I decided I would not be going forward with Gwynedd, I found myself at a crossroads regarding if I wanted content revolving around guns and the weapons manufacturing industry to be on my resume and I decided that was not who I was as a person and I didn't want me professional work to reflect that. After my second interview I was asked to free consulting work via email and to prepare a little something for the next discussion when I was at first just asked to send sample of my work. I found the ask unprofessional. What would stop them from taking my idea and then not hiring me? My first interview was less than 4 hours after I had applied to the job which I found very strange. It raised a red flag more than a green one. The people seemed nice enough.
