      Paid Search Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Hargreaves Lansdown (Bristol, England) in Jan 2025

      Interview

There were 4 stages of interview starting with a screening call with their hiring team. Then a casual introduction (video meet) with the hiring manager who asked about my experience and motivations for applying. After this stage I received a brief for a presentation for the 3rd stage interview. The brief was very vague and lacked in a lot of detail vs other similar tasks I’ve been given at other companies. For the presentation it was an hour an a half video call with the hiring manager and another member of the team, roughly 20-30 mins presentation and the rest questions. The questions were a mixture of technical, competency and based on the presentation. This was a lot to cover in one interview and might have been better using the first interview for competency questions. The next stage would have been a call with the director of marketing for cultural fit. I waited for weeks after the presentation stage and had to email the recruitment person for updates as they didn’t get in touch when they said they would.
