2 hour interview consisting of a coding challenge followed by a more traditional HR interview.
Coding challenge was standard Java TDD interview with the interviewing adding tests to gradually increase difficulty. They reassure that googling is fine but then marked me down for it.
The second part of the interview had one interviewer ask me questions while the other kind of just sat there. Felt like there were a few ‘gotchas’ littered throughout which didn’t really feel fair. They also made little effort to sell me on the company other than you can work remote however much you want. Even after asked they struggled to come up with anything.

Finding common prefixes to words in a List in Java.
I was interviewed by Heywood Pension Technologies for the position of Principal Software Engineer. The process was rigorous but also quick and efficient. The first step was an interesting coding challenge in which the interviewer gradually increased the complexity of the task. The second step focused more on my prior experience as well as my approach to software development. The interviewers gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions and gave good honest answers.
Overall, a very good experience.
