This one one of the worst interviews I have been apart of. I am not exaggerating or upset that I did not make it through the process. The interview started with the lead engineer quickly glancing over my resume which he clearly did not read ahead of time and never gave me a change to introduce myself or showcase my experience or accomplishments. He was clearly busy and immediately kept us moving along which was a telling sign that he did not plan ahead of time for out interview, making me fell like a nuisance and a waste of his time.
As the interview progressed he became more and more frustrated when I could not give the exact answer he wanted to hear. He would frequently repeat "no, no no" when I said something wrong until I stopped talking then would give me a full lesson on why I got it wrong, belittling me. At one point when I got a question wrong and he explained it to me he even said "well you know it now, I bet you won't forget it now that I explained it to you." as he said that I knew the interview had ended and I was indeed wasting his time. This is also not an exaggeration, he frequently rolled his eyes and looked off to the side during our coding portion. When an interviewer shows these signs, a normal person would feel as though their time is not valued and start thinking "why am I even doing this they aren't interested in what I have to say" so understandably they wouldn't put in their best effort if it means nothing to the people they are showing it too.
Concluding the interview I was very taken back at how little I was respected for my time and effort. It was clear my time was not valued and my skills where not understood ahead of time on the interviewers part. I haven't applied to High Moon before and I don't think I'll be applying again after this. If this is how management treats enthusiastic people who care about the games the developer puts out and is very interested on doing their best work for this company: then I would hate know how they treat their employees on a day to day basis.
