The first round is with HR, focusing on your background, qualifications, and cultural fit. The second round is with the manager, featuring behavioral questions to evaluate your problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a coworker. How did you resolve it?
I applied online. I interviewed at HomeEquity Bank (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Screening interview then in person interview with the manager. No tricky question, smooth process. However no feedback, just the "we move forward with few other candidate" while the manager told you we're one of the best so far. You never know how the hiring process is going, but you expect more transparency after an in person meeting. Especially when you got twice as much as the requested experience.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HomeEquity Bank (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2020
Interview
The HR manager was very responsive and was quick to schedule the interview rounds. The 1:1 interview with the hiring manager was easy, however, I was disappointed with the depth of information provided by the interviewer. The interviewer was fairly new to the interviewing process and didn't create a very open environment. Furthermore, the interviewer didn't have a clear picture of the HEB's strategy and how it would evolve over the next couple of months/years.
Advice to Management: Please insist on having a more diverse panel of interviewers, who fully understand in HEB's vision and strategy and can create a sense of excitement in the interviewees.
