I recently participated in the interview process at Huawei Singapore Research Center and wanted to share my experience. While I appreciated the opportunity, I found the overall pipeline to be somewhat disorganized and inefficient.
During the initial round of on-site interviews, the questions primarily revolved around my previous experience in computer graphics. However, I encountered some challenges during the process that left me with a negative impression.
Firstly, there were considerable delays in communication from the HR department, taking over two months to schedule the second interview. This prolonged waiting period not only disrupted the momentum of the interview process but also reflected a lack of organizational efficiency.
Additionally, I encountered some disheartening moments during the interviews themselves. I noticed that some interviewers seemed to display a lack of professionalism, occasionally smirking when I explained fundamental computer graphics techniques. Furthermore, the lack of preparation on their part was evident when they spontaneously selected Leetcode questions without prior planning. While I managed to solve the first question, I faced difficulty with the second, resulting in only partial completion.
What exacerbated the situation was the requirement during the second interview for the results of the Leetcode questions from the first interview. It became apparent that the company lacked a structured tracking system for interview candidates, necessitating me to manually provide the details of my previous interview performance.
Overall, while I appreciate the opportunity to interview at Huawei Singapore Research Center, the experience left much to be desired in terms of organization, professionalism, and preparation. I hope that these issues can be addressed to streamline the interview process for future candidates.
