I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at IHOP (El Paso, TX) in Mar 2015
Interview
I was called in at 8pm, waited for 30 minutes for the manager to be available. We sat in a back seating area, reserved for rush times, and he had a pad of paper. He began to ask me questions. The entire interview took approximately 30 minutes, and I was immediately hired. He asked me what day I would be available to start working, and I replied. He then told me what the uniform was, and told me I had to buy my entire uniform out of pocket. (White or light blue short sleeve button-up, black pants (NOT jeans), a black belt, and black non-slip work shoes. Entire uniform cost approx. $70.)
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IHOP (Tucson, AZ) in Nov 2025
Interview
The interview process entailed of the Manager giving me a rundown of what to expect working there and ensuring if I was okay with all the listed duties, I wasn't asked many questions.
The interview process was straight forward. I went in, asked for an application, filled it out, spoke to the manager, and I got the job within a few days. One of the questions I asked was if they did direct deposit, and they don't, they give paper checks instead.
The process was swift, and they got back to me in a short amount of time. The store manager was kind and friendly. It is like the usual food service industry interview process.
