    Customer Service Manager Interview

    Interview

I received an email stating IQAir would like to interview me and they scheduled it a week later. I went to the interview location in La Mirada. It was a huge office. The receptionist called the HR rep to greet me. There was no smile or anything and the process felt "cold". She took me to a testing room where I took three assessments: a testing one, a behavioral one and a typing one. I called the extension on the phone once completed and she came back to get me and walked me over to a conference room. Still no smile or rapport at all. I waited there for about five minutes until the HR Manager came in. She was nice and the interview turned more into a conversation. However I don't think she took the required time to get to know me. Interview lasted 20 minutes and that was it. She mentioned there were more interviews coming up for the position and I would be notified in an email in about a week. I received a rejection e-mail stating they were moving to the next round and they were passing on me a few days later.

    IOS Developer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in La Mirada, CA

    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IQAir (La Mirada, CA) in June 2015.

    Interview

IQ Air was very disorganized during EVERY part of their process. Right off the bat, their emails contained no line breaks and were difficult to read.

They sent me an email asking for my availability and scheduled me for an interview before I had even replied. When I came to the office, they asked me to complete a online personality test which was at the very least to say bizarre. You were given 5 choices of words such as "succinct", "happy", "well adjusted", "organized", "hopeful" and were asked to choose the ones that were the most and least like you. Most of the choices would describe a normal well adjusted individual, thus you have to choose at least one thing that may not be true about yourself. A lot of the words were out of context as well -- "aggressive" frequently showed up. Do you mean physically aggressive (bad)? Or an aggressive problem solver (good)?

They asked me to complete a cognitive test which very clearly stated you would need a piece of paper to complete it. Was there any paper in the testing room? Of course not.

Their iOS quiz was clearly questions that had just been googled. The language used for most of them made little to no sense. The test was full of spelling errors and had obviously had been thrown together. I've been an iOS developer for 4 years and had trouble understanding what many of the questions were asking. How does IQAir expect to evaluate candidates when they don't understand the subject matter of their tests?

Last I was given a personality interview by a woman who seemed very nice, but she couldn't answer almost any questions about the role.

After the iOS test and computerized tests I was instructed to call the HR woman phone-- Neither time did she answer and I ended up pacing around the testing facility.

It's hard to imagine what kind of candidates this process is meant to select for? I have given 100's of interviews in my career and I *NEVER* ask a technical question I don't understand thoroughly, and I respect my candidates by being well prepared when they arrive.

It's not clear why I needed to take half a day off work for this? Couldn't I have taken their assessments online? It was clear IQAir thinks their time is more valuable than mine, and if you're considering working for them I think that's something to really consider.

    Marketing Role Interview

Anonymous Employee in La Mirada, CA

    Positive Experience

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at IQAir (La Mirada, CA).

    Interview

The interview process, from start to finish, was exceptionally professional and supportive. The HR team ensured that all details and expectations were clearly communicated and understood. The procedure was thoroughly outlined and adhered to at every step along the process and during any subsequent follow-up. Should a future candidate be looking on the Glass Door site for insight into an upcoming IQAir interview, I would say that although you're naturally a little nervous about interviewing for a new role, in my experience, you shouldn't worry about adding to that nervousness due to unclear or last-minute expectations from the HR team or your interviewers. As I say, it was a very professional, well-organized and respectful procedure at every step.

    Interview Questions

    Customer Experience Manager Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IQAir (La Mirada, CA) in September 2014.

    Interview

Upon arrival to IQAIR headquarters I was greeted by Jennifer Croggins she was friendly and immediately set up the professional assessment tests.  The tests were generic, well formatted to gather enough data on individual behavior, core values, work ethic and  mgmt. style.  Upon completion, I was greeted by Ms. Debbie Stein who was thorough, provided enough information on the job role and requirements. The timeline of the interview allowed me to elaborate on my work experience, management style, performance mgmt. and accomplishments. She allowed time for questions. She was attentive, responsive and paced the interview well.  I was comfortable and left with good understanding of job requirements, company goals, culture, and growth.

    Interview Questions

    • I did not experience any difficult, complex or unexpected questions. All questions were relevant and proper to the job role.   1 Answer

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IQAir (La Mirada, CA) in September 2014.

    Interview

I arrived about 15 minutes early for the interview and followed the instructions on the door to call for access. After a few minutes, the door was opened and I was greeted by an HR Representative. I was led to a testing room and given simple and clear instructions for completion of a series of three assessments - two "personality" and one math/logic. The personality assessments were as I expected and designed to get a basic picture of my basic nature and determine how I will react in various workplace scenarios and situations. The math/logic assessment was timed, while the other two were not. Immediately following the completion of my assessments, I was guided to a conference room where I met with Debbie Stein. She made me very comfortable and we conversed about my background per my resume. She asked questions about my experience as it relates to the position. She spoke about the company culture of high performance, which I appreciated, as it gave me further insight into the expectations at IQAir.

    Interview Questions

    • There were no difficult or unexpected questions. Debbie's interview style was very conversational, which put me at ease immediately.   Answer Question

First interview impression: Very professional company with a friendly atmosphere.

Assessment testing is part one of the initial process which is timed and over before you know it. Part two is the "one on one" interview portion. Assessment test results are available at this time and reviewed together with the HR Manager.
